Ecological Footprint

This is an interesting link to demonstrate the amount of resources your lifestyle requires. It is an insight into sustainability in that most of us in the US do not live anywhere close to sustainably.

I think considering we're all about to be responsible for releasing several tons of carbon apiece on our "sustainable development" trip, everyone should take a look at this or other carbon/footprint calculators. It's fascinating stuff. If you're feeling especially eco-conscious, there are lots of companies that will calculate your footprint and then give you an opportunity to offset your impact on the environment. Different companies use different methods: Some plant trees, others buy carbon credits on the open market, some use your money to buy wind power or other eco-power options.
